Maze Runner 3: Death Cure' release date & news details: Recovering actor already got new projects

The third installment for the "Maze Runner" will continue its production in early 2017 thanks to the recovery of the actor's injury from the accident that happened on set. With his recuperation, Dylan O' Brien has a lineup of projects that are already set for him.

Based on reports, the filming of "Maze Runner 3: Death Cure" was delayed due to the injuries sustained by O' Brien, who plays the main character of the film. The accident occurred during a stunt scene involving a train, in which things got out of control leading to the accident. The production crew immediately brought the actor to the hospital since the injuries he sustained were fatal.
The accident, which occurred back in March, gave the actor a lot of broken bones and some lacerations. Aside from that, he had a concussion and also suffered some facial fractures.
On the bright side, O' Brien is already fast recovering and he will be able to reprise his role as Thomas once again in "Maze Runner 3: Death Cure." According to reports, the actor is also back on the set of the sixth season of "Teen Wolf."
O' Brien is already part of another project — a film called "American Assassin." There are speculations that the actor may work on this project first before transitioning to the third installment of "Maze Runner." "American Assassin" is going to be adapted from the novel that Vince Flynn has written. Actors like Michael Keaton and Sanaa Lathan are also part of the upcoming movie.
Other rumors suggest that the two films may be in production at the same time. This worries some fans because the actor may be taking in too much work given that he is still recovering from the accident.
The original release date for "Maze Runner 3: Death Cure" was supposed to be on Feb. 17, 2017, but it has already been postponed to Jan. 12, 2018.
