Senator Isaac Mohammed, representing Kogi Eastsenatorial district, yesterday, said in Abuja that the long-standing crisis between Kogi and Anambra states could only be brought to an end by the enlistment of Kogi as oil-producing state.

To this end, he has asked the relevant authorities, especially

the Federal Government, to do the needful to stave off the
crisis between the two states which, he noted, had dragged
on for too long.

Mohammed in a statement at the end of his meeting with Ibaji oil community of the state, regretted that the oil crisis had not only been on for a while, but had also led to large scale destruction of properties and loss of lives.

Senator Abubakar explained that the essence of his meeting with Ibaji oil producing community of his state was to, first and foremost, “impress on our people to remain law abiding while I continue to liaise with the Senate and the Federal Government to declare Kogi State an oil producing state.’’
